what to wear to your holiday mini session

Well, friends, it’s that time of year! Already! The time of year to plan your holiday mini session and get your family in front of the camera for an annual update.

I know you might have already eaten all the Halloween candy you bought in advance and you’re probably just about to start dusting off the Christmas ornaments. But first, it’s time to look around for mini session availability to get your cute (and sometimes crazy) littles in front of a lens in time for an updated picture to send off those Christmas cards.

I’m SUPER excited to open up my Fall and Christmas mini sessions and welcome families to the Christine W portrait family. While I’ve been focused on my Christine W couples, I always welcome families to the calendar for full sessions with me throughout the year. After much interest, and with the official relaunch of Christine W Portraits earlier this year, this weekend kicks off the first round of mini sessions for 2017, with some fun things in the works for the new year. Want to be the first to know of any new date releases & updates?

If you’re still in need of an updated family portrait, contact me to snap up one of these available sessions:

Before you rush off in a panic, here are my seven top tips for a successful session:

  1. Before spending money on new outfits, I highly recommend going through your closet and seeing if you have anything you already own that you can revive and re-discover. Make sure you give yourself a few days before your session to plan and get anything additional for the family that you may need.
  2. Although you don’t need an excuse, treat yourself to a blow-out or a mani or even booking a session with makeup artist before your session to make you look and feel your most confident self.
  3. When planning your outfits, think layers and co-ordinating over matching.
  4. Neutrals and simple plain colours work great with fun accessory details.
  5. The more relaxed you are, the more the rest of the family will be too. A mini session can feel a little rushed and sometimes chaotic with kiddos who decide on their mood with each passing second. Breathe. Have fun.
  6. Try to arrive 10 – 15 minutes before your session begins and if you have little ones, always have a back-up outfit plan (and lots of wetwipes!)
  7. My biggest tip of all – head out on a family date after your session and soak up the start of the holiday season together. You deserve it!

I can’t wait to celebrate your joy with you!

xx
