My heart
+ raising our boys
Hello, I’m Christine but you can call me Chris.
I’m Zimbabwean born, South African by heart, Irish by passport and Canadian by postal code.
I’m now based in the beautiful ‘burbs of Burlington, Ontario where I do life with my sweet (and sensible) husband, our wild (ly) cute toddler and a sweet new babe who arrived last Fall.
My story
EST. 2011
It all started with a background in media + communications, along with a year of journalism.
I fell in love with photography as a medium for telling stories and evoking emotion but the fun side of family portraits won me over for my first “real” job. After a year of managing a portrait studio in Cape Town, I booked my first solo wedding clients and haven’t looked back since.
My writing
Paper Planes & Peaches
When I’m not behind my camera, building my business or raising my babies, I’m blogging my heart out over on Paperplanesandpeaches.com.
This little heart project of mine is about celebrating the magic in the mess of motherhood, finding the joy in the ordinary and helping other boss mammas feel less alone in the hustle that is building business and raising babies.
I’m a firm believer in love; the fairytale, butterflies in your stomach kind, but also the everyday. ordinary kind.
I love telling stories and believe that life’s best moments should be celebrated out loud with lots of happy dancing.

I’m a perfectionist whose desk would never tell you so. I collect balancing rocks and I’ll never say no to a good quote or a second piece of wedding cake.
I’m a green smoothie convert (although I almost can’t stand the texture) and I try to land on my yoga mat as often as possible (which isn’t too often these days!)
I eat a ridiculous amount of chocolate, count down the sleeps to every exciting event and I secretly intend on owning both a Shetland pony and a Great Dane one day.
I have been photographing weddings for over seven years and telling lots of stories in between.
I worked throughout school, managed a photography studio and now I hustle to build my business in and around raising sweet boys.
I have a passion for helping other creatives chase down their dreams and bring their brands to life through content and visuals.
I have paperwork that qualifies me in media communications, journalism and of course, photography.
Most importantly, I have a wild passion for business building, story telling and creating a life I love, while encouraging others to do the same.
From my desk
What’s in the bag?
I’m a Canon Gal.
Two camera bodies (Canon 5dM3) & a bunch of lenses.
All the essential flashes & gadgets.
Reflector & Kleenex.
Wedding day kit for styling & sometimes emergencies.
A chocolate bar or two.
Comfy shoes & a whole whack of batteries.
Faves
& Fun facts
I come with quite the accent (most people think I’m British/Australian)
I’ll choose hot chocolate or tea over coffee.
Also…always comfy boots or flats over heels.
I have a University love story (that all started over our mutual love of food!)
I was “booked” to document the day I got proposed to!
Becoming a mom has been the hardest job I’ve ever loved.
Everything has changed, and yet, I am more me than I’ve ever been…and it’s wonderful!
